11 Questions for... Albertine Baronius aka studio na.hili

Hi, I'm Albertine, a product and graphic designer living in Berlin. For my small label na.hili I also make jewelry and graphic items like posters and all kinds of things that make life more beautiful. With a strong weakness for interior design, I have now started to work as an interior stylist and have already staged some beautiful product and furniture shoots. I would now like to design whole concepts for home and restaurant interiors soon.

02. What did you want to be when you were little and why?

When I was a child I devoured Pippi Longstocking and all the other books by Astrid Lindgren and wanted to become a writer, and later an archaeologist. However, the cut-out furnishing catalogs I used to furnish my self-drawn houses could have really made me think faster about my real vocation ;)

03. what do you like about your work or what makes it special?

I like that I am allowed to occupy myself with the beautiful things in life... The variety between all the areas and also the often free allocation of time. However, this often leads to the fact that I simply work too much and have projects in my head or on the table even on vacation and at the weekends... Nevertheless, an indication that I love my work and that is already special to me.

04. ...and what not at all?

Tax returns, legal stuff, all the unfortunately necessary organizational stuff that I like to put off forever and when I tackle it in the end I'm surprised that it's not so bad. Still, all things I'd like to turn in at some point. Writing invoices is not much fun, running after invoices really isn't any fun at all.

05. What is your most important work utensil?

Unfortunately, nothing works without glasses or lenses. Calculator & hands are actually the most important utensils... Flowers, twigs or plants, in addition always & gladly much chocolate provide definitely for joy when working.

06. What is the most beautiful thing at your workplace?

I like my workplace very much (also that it can be almost anywhere). It consists of beautiful, useful and emotional objects. Those who follow me on Instagram also know that I really like honest materials, Scandinavian lightness and black & white.

07. Where do you get your ideas from? What inspires you?

Just normal everyday life, pointing out things you would need or like to have, also traveling and nature, somehow the ideas here always come all by themselves. As, for example, the posters of the "endless Summer" series WIND & WATER, which brings a bit of pool ripple and gentle rustle of leaves from my vacation in the south of France directly into my apartment and gives me a bit of relaxed summer mood all year round.
