Asymmetrical desk by Rémi Bouhaniche for Ligne Roset

Why stray into the distance when the solution is close at hand? When Rémi Bouhaniche designed a new desk for Ligne Roset, he imagined flying over the French town of Briord. The Rhône River flows by there just a few meters from the furniture manufacturer's headquarters. Its countless meanders caught his eye during his imaginary flight, as did the foothills of the Jura Mountains. In short: In the midst of such a natural landscape, the right angle suddenly felt wrong. And so Rémi Bouhaniche breaks with the ways of seeing that are usually brought to a desk.

Parallel perspective
The desk top has beveled edges so that its physical presence is reduced to a minimum and it almost seems to float. Towards the front, the top makes a slight bend, which is also picked up by the position of the metal feet. The furniture looks as if it were viewed from two perspectives at the same time. A compact drawer continues the slant of the table edges. At the same time, it emphasizes the asymmetry of the piece of furniture, which with its unconventional nature is made for the unconventional workspaces of our time: the home office. nk
