Advertisement| "Honey, will you please set the table? Oh yes, take the good glasses please!" ... because the good glasses unfortunately eke out more than half of their product life in the cupboard and in the showcase in many households. Unfortunately, all too often the occasion determines when such a good glass is allowed back on the table for a tête-à-tête. It should rather be the served beverage that sets the tone. Apart from table wine, which can certainly also be drunk in a ceramic mug, the most important thing with wine is that the aroma and taste can develop. The new glass line "Perfection" designed by Tom Nybroe for Holmegaard can do all that and brings modern elegance to the table on any occasion.

Carafe (220cl) Decanting wine into a carafe brings out the full potential of the wine, but also makes a young everyday wine a more interesting taste experience. Tom Nybroe created Perfection to focus on the most practical and gentle treatment of wine. The narrow neck of the decanter spins the wine around due to centrifugal force and deposits it millimeter-thin on the inside of the decanter for efficient oxidation. A must for every wine evening!

The line on the glass helps pour the right amount of wine to the widest part of the glass to optimize the nuances of the wine's aromas and flavors.

Glass art with tradition

Holmegaard produces mouth-blown and machine-blown glass using the latest and most modern production methods. The history of Holmegaard Glassworks began in 1825, when Count Christian Danneskiold-Samsøe obtained permission from the King of Denmark to establish a glassworks in Holmegaard Mose. However, the count died in 1823 without receiving an answer to his request. His widow, Countess Henriette Danneskiold-Samsøe, decided to continue the project when she received permission from the king to build a glassworks shortly after her husband's death. The factory was to be located in the bog, as there was enough fuel there to generate the high temperatures needed for the glass furnace.

Early on, the factory made only green bottles, but Henriette wanted to make clear glass cups as well, and the Bohemian glassblowers were able to make them. This was the beginning of a long and proud tradition, which is why some of Denmark's best artists are still associated with Holmegaard's glass production today.
